The World by LadyRavenswood The World by LadyRavenswood
"I am the beginning of your journey, I am the end of your journey..."

The concept of Mercedes became tied to the The World card of tarot, and as such she has "tattoos" on her hands and feet of an angel, an eagle, a bull, and a lion. So I had the idea to take a photo of her as the card. It is always...interesting...to try taking photos with a strong "set" in them for me. I feel like I can never make a decent image. I don't have photoshop either, so the tweaking I can do to any photo is somewhat minimal and my camera is a simple point and shoot digital. In some ways I enjoy this, and take it as a challenge to see how close I can get to something beautiful...but photography is not my strong suit in this hobby. ^_~

try GIMP 2.8 for photo editing. It's free and very, very good.

And this is just STUNNING!

I really like this concept. I knew right away that it was The World Card and am really impressed by how you composed it. I love that you used textiles, like lace and cotton to achieve an heavenly scene. Well done. PS, Mercedes is lovely!

Thank you!

Hehe, yes, I thought that perhaps it would be good to use this fabric as the background because the pattern generates outward but is monotone, so by placing her in the center of this, it would create a balance through the pattern without overshadowing the subject. Circles are actually my favorite shape (if that's not too silly a comment), but they can be so tricky! I think poly-fil is fast becoming one of my favorite props. ^_~

Thank you for your complement of Mercedes as well. ^_^
She is my Iplehouse Bibiane, and I have done the faceup, tattoos, and body blushing myself.

You're welcome!
You did an amazing job on her blushing, faceup and tattoos! They look so professional.
Circles are great shapes, lol. They can be orbs, rings, and so many symbolic things.

These are the first tattoos I've tried, so that is good to hear. ^_^
At some point, I want to try very realistic looking tattoos as well. For Mercedes I had the idea to make them very bold and black, as if she had been marked somehow differently...hehe.
